Now you have another chance to participate in the Ringette World Championships in Lahti from 3.-9.11.2025 by participating in the competition arrangements as a volunteer! The first application period has ended on 31.5.2025 and we will open the next application in the autumn if necessary!
What positions can you apply for?
There are a variety of volunteer positions available, including match assistants, stewarding, ticket sales, security, team assistant positions, communications and media, customer service, first aid services, and official participant transportation.
What age can you apply?
Anyone over the age of 16 can always apply to volunteer if you are eager to participate in organizing a major ringette event in Lahti. Your experience can be a first-time participant or a veteran of several competitions. We expect volunteers to have a cheerful and customer service-minded attitude. Some of our tasks require special skills, such as a security guard card.
What is expected and required of volunteers?
We expect you to be available during the competitions according to the jointly agreed schedules. We assume that you will commit to volunteering. We hope that you will be available for the entire weekend of the World Championships, which culminates in a super weekend, November 8-9, 2025. Volunteers will be offered hot food and refreshments during longer shifts. In addition, volunteers will receive uniform competition clothing. Otherwise, volunteers will not be paid travel expenses, accommodation or other compensation during training or competitions.
What else should a volunteer consider?
The Ringette World Championships will be played at the Isku Arena and RTK Arena in Lahti from 3 to 9 November 2025. Exhibition matches will also be played in Kerava and Helsinki during the competition week, and the local club is responsible for these matches and their arrangements. The Ringette World Championships are owned and managed by the International Ringette Federation IRF. The Finnish Ringette Federation is responsible for organizing the World Championships.
How is the volunteer search progressing?
The first search for volunteers had ended. We will fill rest of the positions in the fall.
When will the work start?
Volunteer tasks in the communications and social media team will start as soon as the team is found. However, most of the other tasks will focus on the event, so the applicant should be prepared to be available from November 3-9, 2025. You can specify how you will be available in the application. The matches in the first week will be played at the RTK Arena, but the matches on Saturday and Sunday will be played at the Isku Arena in Lahti. We hope that you are as committed as possible to volunteer at the 2025 Ringeteer World Championships during the application phase, as the competitions will be built around our active volunteers.
