Team Canada
One of the world's powerhouses in ringette, Team Canada is set to reclaim gold at the upcoming World Ringette Championship in Ottawa. The team, which has held the world champion title four times since the event began in 1990 (1990, 1992, 1996 and 2002), is made up of a mix of veteran and new players.
At a recent training camp, head coach Lyndsay Wheelans noted that the team has good intensity and leadership, as well as speed and talent.
There are currently over 26,000 ringette players in Canada and the National Ringette League boasts 17 teams from Vancouver to Montreal. For more information, please visit www.ringette.ca.
